  • If your order does not come to the first amount of R250 it will be collective on your next order and then 1 block will be filled in. But only on your first R250 with it be collective.

Yip you read right…this is the last newsletter I will be sending out for 2014. I’m almost in shock that we have a few more sleeps and then it’s the last month of the year. Wow this year has been good and quick and a blur!

December is my fullest time of year in the salon and I’d like to ask that those of you who have made appointments for December to please be on time. Most days I’m back to back booked with treatments so I haven’t been able to add an extra few min to most appointments, this has given me the opportunity to make sure I can help as many people as I can before I close on Friday 19 December. I will try my best to make sure I run on time too but if you late for an appointment it will be cut short to allow my day not to run late and upset those who will come on time J I thank you in advance for this.

I’ve been brushing up on my Annique Rooibos Tea knowledge and would like to share some of it with you:

The Annique Rooibos Tea is one of the best quality Rooibos Teas in South Africa. Its contains up to 80% leaf and 20% twig/stick. This means that the quantity of Anti-oxidants are of maximum amount and the benefits of our Rooibos tea are far more effective and improved. The Annique Rooibos Teas contain no additives, preservatives or colorants. It’s also Caffeine Free and is a perfect low calorie drink to boost energy and  your immune system. It’s also low in tannin which helps increase iron and protein absorption in the body

Drinking a maximum of 6 cups a day benefits:

So we into the last stretch of winter…woohoo. But I’m sure this lovely, beautiful weather will not be here to stay. So its Women’s Month and soon spring will be in the air, so now’s the time to start exercising and coming out of hibernation, I know I’m terrible in winter. But I can already see the change in the sky colour and the time of daylight seems to be getting a little longer every week. I’d like to wish all my Ladies a special and Happy Women’s Month.

So we made it through month 1 of Winter….hope you are well and your families are good too? Wow so Alberton had an enormous amount of rain over the weekend, which was a surprise in winter. Hope you got some rain too and was indoors over the weekend so that it didn’t affect your life too much?

At the beginning of the year I finally decided to start implementing my cancellation policy, as during the 2013 year I lost over R9500 in revenue for same day cancellations or no shows.

It’s been working so well with so many of my clients being understanding and supportive of this. Thank you so much, it’s really helped and improved our relationship.

For those of you who don’t know the policy, please be aware that I need at least 24 hours’ notice of cancellation or the need to reschedule your appointment. This allows me to inform other people who are on my cancellation list that an opening has occurred and that I can help them.

If you are going to cancel on the same day as your appointment or not show, please be informed that I will need a 50% payment of the treatment total to cover my loss of income during that time slot. Payment needs to be done when or before I see you again.

I also charge full price on late arrivals if I have to cut your treatment time short.

I totally understand that life happens and your lives are hectic, but communication is important and I can’t help out if I don’t know what’s going on.

Then I’ve had a few clients forgetting their loyalty cards when they come for treatments…please don’t. it’s a chance for you to get some discount on your 11th treatment and I’m not going to colour them in if you forget them. Loyalty cards are given on your 3rd regular treatment.

I’m also running a new loyalty scheme where for every 5 referrals and bookings you will receive a FREE 30min Facial valued at R120.  I’m also looking for Annique product clients so this is relevant to both Salon appointments and Annique referrals. Happy 1st of July. I hope that it will be a great month for you. So we into the second Month of Winter which I’m sure will be cold. With the cold comes the dry, so don’t forget to give your skins and bodies some extra nourishment and hydration to fight off the dryness.

A great way to improve the circulation in winter and help with moisture levels is to exfoliate. Annique have a wonderful body sponge that you can use dry on the skin to remove dead skin cells and increase blood circulation and we have some great facial exfoliators that are gentle and offer effective results when it comes to removing dead skin cells, improving skin texture, hydration, absorption of moisturisers and increasing blood circulation and thus oxygen levels in the skin.

If you are already using the Annique Body wonder sponge you’ll already know it helps with ingrown hairs after waxing and is great for cellulite and poor muscle tone. With the increase of blood to the areas(using your sponge in circular movements for a period of time) the cellulite gets broken down a lot faster. It also allows the muscles to function better leading to better toned muscles. Most importantly it helps remove dead skin cells so that the skin can absorb cream and oil into healthy alive skin cells, rather than dead cells.

Good afternoon Beauty Spotters

And a warm winter welcome to you. I trust you are having a good week, mine has been great so far. I’m enjoying the good warm weather…a little nervous for the end of the week when I believe it’s going to get chilly. So make sure your electric blankets are on your beds and that you have warm socks ready for the weekend.

To all the mothers out there I hope you had a wonderful mother’s day? To all the fathers I wish you a happy father’s day.

I’ve had a few queries regarding dry feet and cracked heels so this newsletter will be about “them feet”…and how to help with the dryness and cracked heels this winter.

Lack of moisture is one of the most common causes behind dry, cracked heels. Other causes are standing for long hours, use of harsh soaps, dehydration, cold chilly winter weather, continuous exposure to water, weight gain or being overweight, wearing incorrect shoes (heels, poor quality shoes, sizing of shoes), psoriasis, thyroid disease, diabetes and so on. Some of the signs and symptoms of cracked feet are red or flaky patches, peeling skin, itchiness, bleeding from the cracks, pain and so on.

So how do we treat this:

  • Before going to bed, take half a bucket of warm water and add some liquid soap in it. You can also add lemon or peppermint drops to the water. Now soak your feet in this warm soapy water for up to twenty minutes. Once soft, foot file gently to remove some of the dead skin. This is a process treatment, so a little every day. Do not remove too much skin, otherwise the feet and heels will become irritated. Rinse feet after and pat dry.
  • Once dry, apply a good amount of heel balm or body butter to the area. Annique ResQue cream will also work wonders.
  • Then apply a few drops of Tissue oil, or baby oil to the area and allow to absorb
  • Cover the feet with soft cotton socks for a min of an hour. If you can sleep with them on, even better!
  • In the morning reapply cream and wait a few min before walking around too much to allow maximum absorption.
  • Repeat every day until heels and feet are soft and smooth

 

Some home remedies for heel balm:

  • Shea butter mixed with baby oil or tissue oil
  • Glycerine mixed a little rose water
  • Mashed banana and honey makes for a great heel mask. Apply and cover in cling wrap for 10-15min 3x a week

Paraffin wax treatments are also great as they offer large amounts of hydration and moisture to the skin. I offer these on their own for R50, and can be done weekly. Also the paraffin wax treatment is included in every pedicure R160
